Duel Autocare
Product Description
BlackJack is a fast-acting tar and glue remover for cars, built to shift stubborn road tar, tar spots and sticky adhesive residue without scrubbing at your paintwork. Spray it on, give it a couple of minutes, and the emulsifiers in the formula break the tar down so it bleeds away and rinses off cleanly. It's a simple, safe way to decontaminate paintwork and wheels before you polish, wax or seal.

Where it fits in your wash
BlackJack is a decontamination step. Wash and dry the car first, then use BlackJack to remove tar and glue before moving on to an iron fallout remover, clay bar and panel wipe. Doing this before you protect the paint means your wax or sealant bonds to a properly clean surface. For the full step-by-step process, see our car decontamination guide.
- Work on a cool surface, out of direct sunlight.
- Spray BlackJack directly onto the tar spots or glue residue.
- Leave for 2–3 minutes (a little longer in cold weather).
- The tar will start to bleed — wipe it away with a clean microfibre towel.
- For glue or sticker residue, spray, allow a short dwell, then wipe.
- Rinse the area and the trigger with water after use.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you remove tar from car paintwork?
Wash and dry the car, then spray BlackJack onto the tar spots and leave it for 2–3 minutes. The tar bleeds as it dissolves, so you can wipe it away with a microfibre towel rather than scrubbing. Work on a cool panel out of direct sun.
Will BlackJack remove glue and sticker residue?
Yes. It's designed for adhesive and glue residue as well as road tar — spray it on, give it a short dwell time, then wipe the residue away. Handy for removing old badges, decals and sticker marks.
Is BlackJack safe on wheels and paint?
It's safe on wheels and paintwork when used as directed. Avoid headlight covers and plastic trim, don't let it dry on the surface, and take extra care on vintage, single-stage or smart-repaired paint.
Where does tar removal fit in the detailing process?
Tar and glue removal is a decontamination step. Use BlackJack after washing and before an iron fallout remover and clay bar, so the paint is properly clean before you polish or protect it.
What's the difference between a tar remover and an iron fallout remover?
A tar remover like BlackJack dissolves oily, sticky contamination — road tar and glue. An iron fallout remover targets tiny metal particles bonded to the paint. Most cars benefit from both as part of a full decontamination.
