Duel Detailing Bucket SetWash, Rinse & Wheels Buckets With Grit Guards
Three 20 litre buckets, printed Wash, Rinse and Wheels, so the water that comes off your wheels never goes near your paint and the grit that comes off your paint never goes back into your shampoo. That is the entire point of a three bucket setup, and it is the difference between washing a car and slowly polishing it with its own road grit. Heavyweight 90mil clear plastic so you can see when the water has gone, reinforced shoulders, and a taper that holds the grit guards tight instead of letting them float. Cheaper than buying the three separately.

Why Three Buckets Matter
Why Three Buckets Rather Than Two
Two buckets solve one problem. A wash mitt picks up grit off the panel, and if that mitt goes straight back into the shampoo, the grit goes with it and gets dragged across every remaining panel. A second bucket of plain water, with a grit guard in it, gives the mitt somewhere to be cleaned before it returns to the shampoo. That is the two bucket method and it is the floor, not the ceiling.
The third bucket exists because wheel contamination is different in kind, not just in degree. Paint carries road film and dust. Wheels carry brake dust, which is iron, which is sharp, and which embeds in a mitt rather than rinsing out of it. On top of that, wheel cleaners and degreasers are far more aggressive than shampoo, and tyre walls carry a greasy road film that you do not want suspended in water anywhere near lacquer. None of that belongs in the same bucket as your paintwork, and no amount of rinsing in between makes it belong there.
In practice most people arrive at three buckets the long way round. They buy two, they keep a separate mitt and brush for wheels because everyone tells them to, and then they realise they are putting that separate wheel kit into the same water as the paint kit, which undoes the point of keeping it separate. Buying three at the start skips that.

How To Use A Three Bucket Setup
With Or Without Grit Guards?
The set is the cheapest way to get three grit guards, and four out of five buyers take them.
| Set without guards | ★ RecommendedSet with guards | Three singles with guards | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | £39.99 | £55.00 | £59.85 |
| Buckets | 3 | 3 | 3 |

| Cost per guard | — | £5.00 | £7.99 |
| You save | — | £4.85 vs singles | — |
The guards cost £15.01 as part of the set and £23.97 bought separately, so taking them here saves £8.96. That is the single best value decision anywhere in this range.
If the set is not right: a single Duel Detailing Bucket is £14.00, or £19.95 with a guard, and you choose Wash, Rinse or Wheels. Two buckets with guards comes to £39.90, which is the genuine entry point to a safe wash.
