Assault is our thick, high-foaming pre-wash snow foam. Loaded into a foam lance it clings to the panels and keeps working as it dwells, softening and lifting road grime and traffic film so most of it rinses straight off before your wash mitt touches the paint. Best of all, it's safe on your existing wax and sealants — so you can foam every single wash without stripping your protection.

The Benefits

Why You'll Love It

Protects Your Paint

Most swirl marks come from washing, not driving. By lifting the loose grime before you make contact, Assault removes a lot of the grit that a wash mitt would otherwise drag across your paint.

Clings Where It Counts

The high-foaming formula sits on vertical panels instead of sliding straight off, so it keeps working through the whole dwell time rather than running to the floor in seconds.

Safe On Your Protection

Assault won't strip your wax or sealant, so there's no trade-off between a proper pre-wash and keeping the protection you've already put on. Foam every wash with confidence.

A Little Goes A Long Way

Around 50ml covers a whole car, so even the smallest bottle lasts a run of 10 washes. The 5 litre works out far cheaper per foam — use the value calculator below to see the difference.

How It Works

What Does Assault Actually Do?

Traffic film is the dull, greyish layer that builds up on a car between washes — a mix of road grime, exhaust residue and brake dust that clings to the paint. A snow foam is an essential part of a proper wash: you cover the car in a thick layer of foam, let it dwell, and rinse away everything it has loosened before you ever pick up a wash mitt.

Assault is alkaline, which is the right end of the pH scale for breaking down road grime and light grease. The thick, clinging foam holds that active mix against the paint long enough to soften the film, then carries a good deal of it away with the rinse. It's tuned to clean effectively while staying safe on your existing wax and sealants, so it lifts dirt without stripping the protection underneath.

That pre-wash stage matters more than it sounds. Almost all the fine scratching you see in direct sunlight comes from dirt being dragged across paint during washing — so the less grit there is when you start, the less damage each wash does. It's a difference you notice over years, not in a single afternoon.

The Result
"A thick foam that lifts the loose dirt before you touch the paint — and won't strip the wax you've already put on. That's a pre-wash you can run every single time."

Suitability

Is It Right For You?

Ideal For
  • Anyone with a foam lance or foam cannon who wants a proper two-stage wash
  • Regularly maintained cars with light to moderate road grime and traffic film
  • Anyone who has waxed or sealed their car and wants a pre-wash that won't strip it
  • People who want to reduce swirl marks and fine scratching over time
  • Enthusiasts who enjoy a thick, satisfying foam as part of the routine
  • Weekend washers who want professional results without a complicated process
Consider An Alternative If…
  • Your car carries heavy, ingrained winter grime, farm mud or road salt — Nitty Gritty is the stronger degreaser for that
  • You don't have a foam lance or pressure washer — Nitty Gritty can be applied with a simple pump sprayer
  • You want the gentlest possible foam to maintain a ceramic coating between washes — Engage is our pH-neutral snow foam
  • You're looking for the contact-wash step rather than a pre-wash — Bahama Blue is the shampoo
Safe On
  • All paint types and colours
  • Existing wax and sealants
  • Glass
  • Plastic trim and rubber seals
Avoid / Test First
  • Any surface where the foam could dry before rinsing
  • Applying in direct sunlight or on hot panels without working section by section
Application Guide

How To Use Assault

1
Rinse The Vehicle First

Start with a thorough rinse using a hose or pressure washer. This clears the loose debris so the foam can reach the traffic film underneath rather than sitting on top of dried mud.

2
Fill Your Foam Lance

Add 50ml of Assault to your foam lance bottle and top it up with 450ml of water — one simple mix, enough to foam a whole car. See the mixing guide below.

3
Foam The Whole Vehicle

Cover the entire exterior in an even layer of foam. Pay particular attention to the lower panels, sills and wheel arches, where traffic film builds up most.

4
Dwell & Agitate If Needed

Let the foam dwell for three to five minutes, and gently agitate stubborn areas (badges, window rubbers and or grills) with a soft detailing brush. Don't let it dry on the surface — in warm weather or direct sun, work one section at a time.

5
Rinse Thoroughly, Then Wash

Rinse the whole vehicle with clean water using your pressure washer. The paint should look visibly cleaner before you move on to your contact wash with shampoo.

Dilution

450ml water = 1 vehicle
1 Application

One simple mix, every time — add 50ml of Assault to your foam lance bottle and top it up with 450ml of water. That's enough to foam a whole car, so there's no guesswork about strength. Never allow Assault to dry on the surface, and always rinse thoroughly after every application. For more on how dilution ratios work, read our dilution ratios guide.

Detail
Is Assault safe on wax and sealants?
Yes. Assault is formulated to lift road grime and traffic film without stripping your existing protection, so you can use it as a pre-wash every time you clean the car. As with any foam, don't let it dry on the surface — apply it, give it three to five minutes, and rinse.
Do I need a foam lance or pressure washer?
Assault is designed to be used through a foam lance or foam cannon on a pressure washer — that's what creates the thick, clinging foam. If you don't have one, our Nitty Gritty pre-wash can be applied with a simple pump or hand sprayer instead.
What's the difference between Assault and Nitty Gritty?
Assault is a snow foam — a thick, clinging pre-wash that's safe on wax and sealants and ideal for regular washing. Nitty Gritty is a stronger pre-wash and degreaser, built to break down heavy, bonded grime. A regularly washed car is well served by Assault; heavy winter grime wants Nitty Gritty.
What's the difference between Assault and Engage?
Assault is alkaline, which gives it more cleaning power for everyday road grime. Engage is our pH-neutral snow foam — gentler, and the better choice when you want to maintain a ceramic coating or sealant with the lightest possible touch.
How often should I use it?
Every time you wash, if you want the full benefit. Because Assault is safe on your protection, there's no reason not to make it your regular first step — it's the stage that stops your wash mitt dragging grit across the paint.
What happens if it dries on the car?
Don't let it. If foam dries you can get streaking or residue, and it's more stubborn to remove on a hot panel. If it does start to dry, re-wet the area and rinse thoroughly. To avoid it, work panel by panel in warm weather or direct sunlight rather than foaming the whole car at once.
