Empty Buckets After Every Wash
Do not leave dirty water sitting overnight. Contamination left to sit breeds bacteria, leaves mineral deposits on the inside of the bucket, and can degrade the plastic over time. Tip it, rinse it, stand it upside down to drain.
Never Swap The Wheels Bucket
The wheels bucket is in contact with brake dust, wheel cleaner, and road tar. That chemistry does not belong in your paint wash setup. Mark the bucket and keep it separate permanently.
Rinse the grit guard under clean water after every wash. Contamination packs into the fins. If it dries there, it transfers back into the bucket next time you use it.
Store buckets dry with the grit guard out. If you want to store diluted shampoo ready between washes, fit a Gamma Seal Lid to keep it sealed and clean.
Keep out of direct sunlight when not in use. Prolonged UV exposure fades clear plastic and weakens the structure over time.
Do not leave buckets standing open outside. Rain, debris, and leaves fill them quickly and turn your clean wash setup into a contamination problem.

The two bucket method separates dirty rinse water from your clean wash water. One bucket holds your shampoo solution, the other holds clean rinse water. Without one, every time you dunk your mitt you risk picking up the dirt that just came off your paint.
