Detailing Brushes

Different parts of a car need different brushes. A soft brush that's safe on delicate trim would struggle to shift dried mud from an alloy, and a stiff brush tough enough for wheels would be too aggressive for paintwork or interior plastics.

This collection brings together our full brush range — soft and stiff detailing brushes for vents, badges, grilles and emblems, long-reach brushes for wheel barrels and spokes, and tyre brushes for heavier scrubbing. Using the right brush for the right job means better results and less risk of marking a surface you didn't mean to touch.

For wheel-specific brushes, see our wheel brushes collection; for interior work, see our interior brushes.

Why Use Dedicated Detailing Brushes?

A microfibre cloth is great on flat panels, but it bridges over gaps rather than getting into them. Badges, vents, grilles, door shuts, wheel barrels and trim seams all hold dirt that needs something smaller and more precise to shift it safely.

Using the right brush helps you:

  • Reach tight areas a cloth or mitt can't get into
  • Lift dirt from vents, grilles and badges without scratching
  • Apply cleaning products more precisely to detailed areas
  • Finish a detail properly, rather than leaving the fiddly bits half-done

Which Brush Do I Need?

This collection holds our full brush range. If you already know the job you're doing, start with the right group:

  • Wheels, barrels and calipers — long-reach brushes in 12, 16 and 18 inch. See wheel brushes.
  • Vents, seams and switchgear — small, soft brushes for cabin work. See interior brushes.
  • Badges, grilles and emblems — soft-bristled detailing brushes, gentle enough for paint and delicate trim.
  • Tyres, arches and engine bays — stiffer bristles, for jobs that need real agitation.

The short version: soft bristles for anything delicate or painted, stiff bristles for anything textured or heavily soiled, and long-reach brushes for anywhere your hand won't fit.

Always check the bristle type before use on a surface you're unsure about, and test a small area first if you're working somewhere delicate. Rinse your brushes out as you go — trapped grit is what marks paintwork, not the bristles.

Pair your brushes with our alloy wheel cleaners and interior cleaners to get the most out of every stage of your detail.

Detailing Brushes FAQs

Everything you need to know about choosing and caring for your detailing brushes.

Will a detailing brush scratch my paintwork?

Used correctly and kept clean, a soft-bristled detailing brush shouldn't mark paint. Always rinse the brush of any trapped grit before use, and avoid stiffer brushes on painted surfaces.

What's the difference between a soft and stiff brush?

Soft brushes are gentler and suited to delicate areas like badges and interior trim. Stiffer brushes are built for tougher jobs like grilles and vents, where you need more agitation to shift dirt.

Can I use these brushes on my wheels?

For wheels specifically, a dedicated wheel brush is a better choice — see our Wheel Brushes collection for options built for that job.

How do I clean my detailing brushes after use?

Rinse thoroughly in clean water after every use to remove any trapped dirt, and let them air dry fully before storing, so they're ready and grit-free next time.

Are these brushes safe on interior surfaces?

Some are, but for interior-specific work we'd recommend our Interior Brushes collection, which is built specifically for dashboards, vents and trim.

The small details are what make a detail look finished.

It's easy to spend an hour on the bodywork and forget the badges, vents and grilles that actually catch someone's eye up close. The right brush makes that last 10% of the job quick instead of frustrating.
